Our Instructor

Jeri Guzman

Jeri has been working and playing with horses all of her life – her first horseback ride was with her Dad at the age of 6 months.  Horses have always been a part of her life as partners and friends, confidants and work mates.  Jeri believes that most everything you need to know, you can learn by watching and being around horses.  They respect a leader, are loyal to the herd and everyone has a place and knows it.

Horses are excellent teachers if the students are listening!  Jeri has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Range Management and attended Eastern Oregon University and Oregon State University.  Jeri has worked as a Range Conservationist for the Forest Service and has worked on several cattle ranches, starting colts and moving cattle.  She has packed and ridden trails from the Crest Trail in Oregon and Washington to the Maah Daah Hey Trail in North Dakota, taken jumping and dressage lessons and is a life-long student of anything horses can teach her.

Jeri became a PATH certified therapeutic riding instructor in 2011, has taught over 800 therapeutic riding classes since then and is intrigued more each day by how horses can change people’s lives for the better.
